Board of Advisors

The OLMC/LGA Board of Advisors has been created to provide strategic guidance, expertise, and support that can help advance our educational mission. Populated with trusted leaders and experienced professionals, the Board will offer insight in areas such as academic and faith formation, finance, development, communications, governance, and community engagement. Board members also serve as institutional ambassadors, helping us strengthen relationships and expand our reach. We’re grateful that their endorsement of our project positions us for continued and ever greater excellence and impact. 

Thomas W. Carroll

Thomas W. Carroll is a widely recognized leader in Catholic education who served as Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Boston from 2019 to 2024. He is the founder and president of the Catholic Talent Project, a national initiative dedicated to recruiting and forming mission-driven educators to strengthen Catholic schools across the United States. 

Kelly Evans

Kelly Evans is an award-winning journalist and anchor at CNBC, where she hosts The Exchange and co-anchors Power Lunch, providing daily analysis of the global economy and financial markets. She previously served as an economics reporter and columnist at The Wall Street Journal, where she covered macroeconomic trends and capital markets. 

Professor Robert P. George

Robert P. George is the McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University. A co-founder of the Witherspoon Institute, he has served on the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and the President's Council on Bioethics. 

Dennis Gerber

Dennis Gerber is President and CEO of the Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund, the largest facilitator of Catholic Philanthropy in the world. With more than two decades of experience in fundraising and nonprofit leadership, he specializes in helping individuals, families, and institutions achieve their charitable goals through strategic philanthropic planning. In addition to his professional role, Dennis is an active member of several non-profit Boards of Directors, contributing to a range of Catholic apostolates and organizations. Dennis and his wife, Elise, have four children. With their eldest entering Lumen Gentium Academy and three more expected to follow, they are deeply committed to the Academy's mission and its formation of future Catholic leaders.

Professor F. Russell Hittinger III

F. Russell Hittinger III is an eminent scholar of Catholic social thought and natural law philosophy, currently serving as Executive Director of the Institute for Human Ecology at The Catholic University of America. He is widely published in the areas of philosophy, theology, and law and has held senior academic appointments at the University of Tulsa, The Catholic University of America, and Fordham University, in addition to serving in advisory roles to the Holy See and multiple pontifical academies.

Caitlin La Ruffa

Caitlin La Ruffa is a graduate of Princeton University who served as executive director of the Love and Fidelity Network from 2011 to 2016. She writes and speaks on marriage and family, and held earlier roles at Bain and Company and the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.

Father Michael Magree, SJ

Father Michael Magree is an associate professor of Theology at Boston College. A Jesuit priest formed at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Fordham University, and Boston College, he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters from The Ohio State University. Father Magree contributes to both teaching and research in historical and systematic theology.

Michael Ortner

Michael Ortner is the founder of Capterra, the leading software marketplace he launched in 1999, which grew into one of the largest platforms for business software discovery before being acquired by Gartner in 2015. He is also the founder of the Ortner Family Foundation, a philanthropic organization focused on strengthening Catholic schools and advancing human flourishing through education and formation. 

President Jonathan J. Sanford

Jonathan J. Sanford is the 10th president of the University of Dallas, a Catholic liberal arts university in Irving, Texas, where he also serves as a professor of philosophy. A scholar of ethics and virtue theory, he previously served as Dean of Constantin College and provost at the university after more than a decade of teaching and academic leadership at Franciscan University of Steubenville. 

Luis Tellez

Luis E. Tellez is the President and co-founder of the Witherspoon Institute, where he has led the organization since its founding in 2003, advancing its mission of fostering scholarship, educational programming, and public dialogue on the moral foundations of free and democratic societies. He is closely connected to Princeton University’s James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions, where he has served in advisory and collaborative roles supporting conferences, seminars, and intellectual initiatives linked to the Program’s work.
