GALA NEWS & NOTES
In recognition of his cheerful dedication to OLMC and LGA, we are thrilled to honor maintenance supervisor José Galloza with this year’s Award for Alumni & Community at our 2023 Gala.
Thanks to his tireless labor, we have expanded OLMC’s campus to three buildings, including the new atrium for our preschool and the gorgeous outdoor pavilion connecting the main building to the annex.
You can offer your own word of thanks to José by purchasing a gratitude note in our gala journal. We’re offering two different sizes (quarter and half page), and 100% of the proceeds will go towards campus improvements and expansion. In other words, not only will you be adding your voice to a book of appreciation, you’ll be making a practical contribution in support of his crucial work.
As soon as you purchase space in our ad book, a representative will be in touch with you about the design and layout of your ad. In the meantime, if you’ve already got artwork and language you know you’d like included, please feel free to send them along to ad@olmcboonton.org.

GALA DRESS SWAP
Wondering what to wear for the gala? Looking for a sustainable option and a new look at no cost? All Lady Chanticleers are invited to participate in our first annual Gala Dress Swap TODAY, November 2nd from 8-10am and 1:15-2:30pm in Gordon Hall.
There will be a fitting room with mirrors set up in Gordon Hall. Depending on inventory, guests will be permitted to take one or two dresses. For borrowed dresses, please dry clean and return within three weeks.

Student portrait retakes are scheduled for November 30th. If your child missed picture day or if you’d like to have your child’s photo taken again, please contact Mrs. Vandenberg at school@olmcboonton.org (for students in PreK-8) or Mrs. Kachler at vkachler@lg.academy (for students in 9-12) and request a retake.
Please note that 8th grade graduate and 12th grade senior portraits will be taken on January 24th.
Don Rags are an Oxford tradition in which teachers gather as a group to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the student while the student and his/her parent(s) listen as an observer only. This has the great benefit of allowing students to see themselves through the eyes of their teachers, being affirmed in what they are doing well and receiving guidance to correct the areas where improvement is needed. There is an opportunity at the end of each conference for parents to ask the teachers questions. It is our hope that the Don Rags will provide an occasion for parents and their child/ren to engage in fruitful discussion at home as a result of what they have heard.
Don Rags will be held on November 13th-15th, 1:30 - 6:30 pm each day. Appointments are assigned in 20-minute increments, allowing 15 minutes for each conference and 5 minutes for the changeover of participants. ATHLETICS INFORMATION
We are excited to explore the real possibility of installing a weight and fitness room in the main building of OLMC to be available for use by both OLMC and LGA students. In order to make this a reality we would like to ask the community who would like to be involved. If this prospect interests you and you would like to contribute, please let us know. We will need to obtain equipment and other resources, including anyone who is interested in helping instruct and coach. Please send Mr. Hain a message directly in order to let us know in what way you may be interested in helping.
