New Family Welcome Packet
So your child has enrolled at OLMC School - what now? First of all, welcome! We’re glad you’re here! We’ve prepared the following checklist to make sure you’ve got all the resources your family needs to make your first few days and weeks here as easy and pleasant as possible. There’s a family to-do list so you can keep track of your responsibilities; we’ve also included the school’s to-do list so you can know what to expect from us. Please take some time to review each item, and, as always, if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s get started!
Your To-Do List
Make sure your child has the proper uniform. HERE is a link to our uniform requirements page; it will also take you to our uniform vendor. Periodically throughout the year, we offer the Chanticleer Closet, a type of uniform exchange where no actual exchange is required, and you may find gently used items. For more details, please reach out to the school.
If you haven’t already, please be sure to fill out all required forms. You can find a link HERE.
Get involved! The Home-School Association is a great way to connect with other families and serve the school. You can find a link to its page HERE. In addition, our Weekly Update is full of useful information and details about upcoming events, so be sure to read every edition. You can also access our weekly update archive HERE to get a good sense of the life of the school.
Become familiar with our Parent Portal. There you’ll find the school’s calendar and Family Handbook, our online absence reporting system, and links to our grading and tuition management systems. You can access the Parent Portal HERE (password: chanticleers).
The school will provide your child with most of the school supplies needed throughout the year. You are responsible for providing your child with: a backpack; water bottle (for water only); lunch box; uniform.
The School’s To-Do List
We will automatically add your email to the Weekly Update. The update is the school’s weekly communication to families and includes all the administrative and extra-curricular information you and your child need to take full part in the life of the school. It comes out every Thursday, so be on the lookout for it! Please note: If you are not receiving the Weekly Update, check your spam folder and be sure to add school@olmcboonton.org as a contact; if that doesn’t solve the problem, please contact the school directly.
Your child’s teacher will reach out to you to introduce himself/herself and give you a chance to ask any questions you may have about getting started at OLMC. Our teachers are some of the most talented and dedicated professionals we know, and we encourage you to learn more about them through our Faculty and Staff page. You can expect your child’s teacher to reach out to you by late-August.
As noted above, the school will provide most school supplies needed throughout the year (things like pens and pencils, paper, crayons, scissors, glue, etc.). If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher.
